Orbiculate BatfishOrbiculate Batfish, Platax orbicularis, is an omnivore commonly found in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. It is often found eating a mix of algae, Jellyfish and small animals. Batfish are well known for their unique shape, being taller than they are long. This creates a special requirement for housing these fish. As they grow taller they will require a "tall" aquarium with plenty of open space to swim around. Another recommendation for housing Batfish is to only provide peaceful tank mates. Aggressive tank mates may be attracted to nip at the long fins of the batfish.
